Kit to strengthen the rear axle beam BMW E46 For a long time the owners of BMW E46 complained about the damage to the body in a place of fastening elements of the rear beam of the E46. A bit of theory: the rear axle Assembly on BMW E46 serves to transmit power to the wheels to set them in motion, and has in its design a beam (or E46 subframe). ©2016 by BMW E46. 4 years agoI just bought an '02 E46 M3 with 73k. The subframe was never reinforced but was inspected last week. I've been reading more and more about the subframe issue and am looking to get the subframe reinforced within the next couple months or so. However, I'm not sure if I should get it done now or wait. I will not be putting the car under much stress for a while so I don't know if it'd be worth it yet. From my reading I see that the subframe issue is pretty common but it seems very very blown out of proportion. I was wondering if any of you guys have ever had subframe issues or is this problem just way blown out of proportion because of the internet horror stories. Either way I will definitely get it addressed before I begin tracking the car. Thanks! :)
